After a year of many successful project completions, award recognitions and involvement in the community, Willmeng was delighted to share a joyful evening with family, friends, and coworkers at the 2017 Christmas party. Over 100 employees, spouses and significant others, and children gathered at Odysea Aquarium to celebrate the season and commemorate another year of hard work and determination.
The Willmeng Christmas party started off with individual family photos and a strolling cocktail hour among the undersea exhibits, including OdySea’s signature rotating theater. As with all of our company functions, the entire family is invited. With the supervision of trusted babysitters, Willmeng kids took over the second-floor kids zone for fun games, activities, a kid-friendly buffet, manta ray petting, a penguin educational experience, and movies. Meanwhile, employees, spouses and significant others enjoyed dinner and an evening program that included:
- New employee introductions – 13 new employees joined the team since the midyear retreat
- Memorial Gary Goodwin Safety Award – Ron Patterson was awarded this newly named award in honor of our dear friend, Gary.
- Willmeng Wellness Winner announcement – In a surprising twist, first and second place teams were brought up on stage and the winners were announced: Krystal and Michael Book, Jimmy and Rachel Lindblom, Jason and Gabbi Alvarado, DJ and Laurie Anderson, and Craig Waymeier. First place winners were awarded $200 AMEX gift cards each and second place winners each secured $100 gift cards.
- Employee gift raffle that included fabulous prizes (in total valuing over $16,000) including: 55” TVs, sound systems, camera, wireless beats, iPads, Disneyland park-hopper tickets, and gift cards valuing $100, $200, $250, and $500 to Home Depot, Costco, Target, AMEX and Visa.
The evening was capped with an afterparty that included casino game tables, late-night eats, and prizes. The special evening was the perfect end to a fantastic 2017, and we are so ready for a wonderful and prosperous 2018!
