Willmeng has been busy expanding our education portfolio this year. Our impact has reached across Arizona and into our burgeoning Utah market, transforming outdated spaces into state-of-the-art learning environments. By prioritizing sustainability, flexible long-term use, and student safety, we are helping schools reimagine what modern education looks like.

Chandler Unified School District (CUSD) Navarrete Elementary: Reimagined Library Renovation
Willmeng transformed more than 5,000 SF of traditional media center space at Navarrete Elementary into a high-end, collaborative learning hub. Key features include:
- Integrated Learning Spaces: Dedicated zones for science labs, reading areas, technology-focused learning, and adaptable classrooms.
- Flexible Lecture Environments: New tiered seating was installed to create more engaging and collaborative environments for lectures and presentations.
- Indoor/Outdoor Integration: The design incorporates outdoor learning spaces, connected to the interior via roll-up doors, with added shade structures and an amphitheater to facilitate outdoor instruction and gatherings.

Chandler Unified School District (CUSD) Bologna Elementary: Library & STEM Modernization
This 8,632 SF renovation converted an aging library into a versatile, mixed-use learning environment. This comprehensive renovation upgraded the facility with high-end finishes, including specialty flooring, acoustic ceilings, and custom millwork to enhance both form and function. By adding operable partitions, integrated technology, and structural lighting improvements, we created a flexible, interactive space that easily adapts to the evolving needs of teachers and students.
Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) 68th Street Athletic Fields: Multi-Use Facility
Serving the Scottsdale community, this multi-phase athletic renovation focused on creating a premier youth sports destination. Our team managed everything from building envelope repairs (reroofing the on-site building, adding new fascia and a drip edge, repairing the soffit, and painting the building’s exterior) to specialized turf care for existing fields. The transformation included the installation of eight new sand volleyball courts with professional Musco lighting, resurfaced basketball courts, and a new playground, sidewalks and irrigation, providing a modern, safe, and highly functional outdoor space for student-athletes.

Burton Elementary Renovation & Addition: Prioritizing Safety
When working on an occupied campus, the safety of students, staff, and parents is our highest priority. To kick off work at Burton Elementary in Kaysville, UT, we hosted a school-wide construction safety assembly to ensure the entire community was prepared. We proactively addressed student curiosity and established clear boundaries, discussing new pedestrian walkways, updated bus and drop-off patterns, and the importance of staying clear of active work zones.
San Tan Montessori K-6 New Build: Growing Communities
As Queen Creek continues to grow, so does the need for local schools. Our latest project, the San Tan Montessori K-6 campus, is a 36,000 SF facility built to meet that demand. While the project faced early hurdles with weather and soil conditions, our team’s proactive management has us on track to finish a full month ahead of schedule. Having worked with this owner on several other school projects, we understand how critical those extra weeks are for staff to prepare for a successful school year.
