In November, numerous stakeholders from around the state participated in an Arizona Town Hall event to provide recommendations for improving Arizona’s preK-12 education system funding.

As the Arizona Association for Economic Development’s (AAED) Government Affairs Committee Chair, Willmeng’s Keyvan Ghahremen was invited to join the two and half day affair. He participated in one of four panels, which were tasked with building consensus on ways to improve state funding in areas such as teacher pay, ongoing facility maintenance, and investment in new schools.

Keyvan was thoroughly impressed with the event’s structured and collaborative format and was glad to participate in a platform where all ideas and opinions were heard and respected. “This forum creates thoughtful discourse surrounding tough issues,” he said. “Everyone remained professional and cordial.”

Through the Town Hall’s efficient process, the event resulted in a final recommendations report that can be accessed here. The Arizona Business and Education Coalition is currently working to schedule a celebration of education event where they will present the report to the State House.

“Our firm remains committed to engaging with the communities we serve and is honored to participate in this impactful process,” said Ghahreman. “Willmeng’s hope is that the report will result in a lasting change that will move forward preK-12 education throughout Arizona.”
