Celebrating Women in Construction Week 2025 at Willmeng

Last week, Willmeng Construction celebrated Women in Construction Week, focusing on connection, education, and visibility for women in the industry. Each day brought new opportunities to highlight the value women bring to construction and to introduce future builders to careers they might not have considered.

To kick off the week, team members visited Corner Canyon High School in Utah. Speaking directly with students about what working in construction looks like sparked conversations around career paths that go beyond the conventional expectations of women. Sharing stories from the field and the office helped put real faces to roles that students might now see as possibilities for themselves.

On Tuesday, Willmeng hosted a company lunch to create space for recognizing the women who lead projects, solve problems, and keep teams moving forward. It served as a reminder that support and acknowledgment within the company are just as important as outreach beyond it.

By midweek, teams headed out for job site tours—first at Palm Valley and then at Gateway Interchange. These visits opened up conversations about leadership, field management, and the daily work that keeps complex projects on track. S&S Steel Structures and Encore Steel also opened their doors, welcoming teams to look behind the scenes of fabrication and assembly.

Saturday, the Willmeng team wrapped up WIC Week with an event aimed at engaging kids and families. Site tours, welding demonstrations, masonry work, and trade partner booths provided attendees the chance to try their hands at real construction activities.

Women in construction continue to significantly influence the construction industry. At Willmeng, this is seen every day—on job sites, in meetings, in the office, and beyond. Women in Construction Week gave the company an opportunity to reflect on its work and inspire others to recognize their role within it.
