Honoring Our Veterans – The Backbone of Willmeng Construction

This Veterans Day, we at Willmeng Construction pause to honor and celebrate the 32 veterans who are integral members of our team and the millions of veterans nationwide. Their service to our country has shaped them into the exceptional leaders and teammates they are today, and we are privileged to work alongside them.

The value veterans bring to Willmeng is immeasurable. Their military experience instills qualities that make them natural leaders in the construction industry: a mission-driven mindset, unwavering discipline, and a work ethic second to none. They approach challenges with a problem-solving mentality, quickly assessing situations and making decisive adjustments to keep projects moving forward. When deadlines loom and obstacles arise, veterans bring that essential “make it happen” attitude that refuses to accept roadblocks as stopping points.

Zachary Bowler, a Marine Corps veteran and Project Engineer on the Willmeng team, captured this perfectly: “In the military, you were rarely afforded excuses as to why you were not able to get something done. In construction, you are regularly finding yourself in a position of either taking something ‘all the way’ to execution or stopping at the first roadblock you run into. For me, I was already trained into the mindset of never allowing roadblocks to get in the way of the mission.”

Veterans also excel at fostering teamwork and collaboration—skills honed through their service that translate seamlessly to construction sites. Their can-do attitude and mission-focused approach prove invaluable when hitting critical project milestones and delivering excellence to our clients.

At Willmeng, we put a premium on culture and creating an environment where every employee can find their genuine place of purpose. We’re proud to be a company where so many veterans have found a home—a place where their dedication, leadership, and hard work shine brightly every day.

To all veterans, both on our team and throughout our nation: thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and the countless ways you continue to make a difference. You make Willmeng—and our country—stronger.
