What is Intern Draft Day?
Each year, our teams come together for Intern Draft Day, a tradition where departments “draft” incoming interns to join their teams for the summer. It’s competitive, it’s fun, and it sets the tone for what’s ahead. More than anything, it reflects how seriously we take this program. These aren’t short-term roles; they’re future teammates, and we’re excited to welcome the Class of 2026.
What Does it Mean to be a Willmeng Intern
Interning at Willmeng means being part of the work from day one. Whether assigned to a jobsite, supporting preconstruction, or working with People Operations, interns are fully integrated into their teams. They attend meetings, contribute to real tasks, and gain exposure to how projects move from concept to completion. Through The Willmeng Academy, interns also step back to understand the bigger picture of how each role connects and what sets our approach apart.
How our Program Prepares Students
By the end of the summer, interns leave with more than experience. They build relationships, gain confidence in a professional setting, and see firsthand how their education applies in the field. It’s a chance to test interests, learn from experienced teams, and understand what a career in construction can look like. For many, it’s just the beginning of their path with Willmeng.
