[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The approved expansion of the Loop 202 required Dolphin Casting, a subsidiary of Karsten Manufacturing, to relocate from the manufacturing facility it has occupied for more than 30 years. Dolphin Casting provides metal castings for multiple industries and automated process including shell.

Starting in March 2017, Willmeng Construction began a renovation and expansion that consisted of adding a new 12,914-square-foot masonry factory building to the existing 111,807-square-foot concrete tilt panel warehouse. Located in Phoenix at 440 N. 51st Ave., the tenant improvement and expansion project was completed in December 2017, bringing the facility’s total footprint to 124,721 square feet.

The interior construction included tenant improvements to multiple areas including 10,830 square feet of office space, 1,892 square feet of assembly space, 78,055 square feet of manufacturing space, a 19,858-square-foot warehouse facility, and 1,172-square-foot storage area. Additional scope included five new 3600AMP services, gas line service, cooling towers, chillers, Ergolift cranes and services to over 100 pieces of equipment.

More specifically, the TI consisted of building out the following manufacturing departments: Wax Department, Shell Department, Casting Department, Knockout/Shot Blast Department, Finishing Department, Heat Treat Department, Final Blasting and Inspection Department.

Designed by Ware Malcomb, Willmeng’s Trevor Stantus served as the project manager and Willmeng’s Nathan Pope and Steve Scharboneau were the project superintendents.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_media_grid style=”load-more” items_per_page=”6″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1562080425671-a4f45990-e50f-9″ include=”35945,35944,35943,35942,35941,35940,35939,35938,35937,35936,35935,35934,35933,35932,35931,35930,35929,35928,35927,35926,35925″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
