Willmeng sponsored the nonprofit’s annual fundraiser with all of the event proceeds helping make long overdue improvements to Luke Air Force Base (AFB).
As the primary fundraising event with the goal of supporting the men, women, families and mission of Luke AFB, the Golf Classic allows Fighter Country Partnership (FCP) to raise the necessary donations in order to complete projects at the base that no longer receive federal funding. This year’s event was held at the Wigwam Resort in May.
“It’s all about saying thank you to the military and giving back,” said Don Gleash, Willmeng superintendent, and longtime supporter of the Fighter Country Partnership Fund and Golf Classic. “Our goal at these events is to bridge the gap between the military and the public, to increase awareness and take the time to share our experiences in life with these military members.”
Passionate about the cause, Willmeng has a history of partnering with FCP to donate time and money in order to support the nonprofit’s goals as well as the individuals serving their country. Willmeng’s construction work with FCP includes completed renovations of the base’s fire station last year and flight line kitchen earlier this year.
These projects directly impact those who work at the base and improve their daily lives, says Gleash. “We work alongside veterans at Willmeng and we value the people who took that sacrifice for us.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
