Willmeng Construction Inc. is one of Arizona’s fastest-growing building contractors specializing in ground-up and tenant improvement projects.

The company has an intentional internal and external vision of altruism, which is accomplished through the efforts of more than 80 employees dedicated to Arizona’s local economy and community. The result is significant growth and achievements as a general contractor during the past decade.

Willmeng’s vision of shaping the Valley and commercial real estate community is recognized by more than 120 unsolicited letters that express gratitude and “job well done” statements from clients and trade partners. Employee satisfaction ratings also are high as the company’s leadership values being good stewards through a family-centered and professional culture. Willmeng’s leaders show employee appreciation, for example, through annual all-paid retreats and a company-wide wellness program.

While more than 80 percent of Willmeng’s work is in office, industrial and medical projects for private sectors, the company is aggressively growing with a portfolio of public sector projects that include fire stations and schools that will positively impact the community.

The ability to impact lives of many is built into Willmeng’s business model through projects the company selects. Influential projects include the Bret Tarver Neighborhood Learning Center, the Luke Air Force Base fire station and at least 15 Goodwill locations throughout the Valley that employ more than 42,000 individuals.

Willmeng’s dedication to the community and economy is further evidenced by its annual commitment to developing Arizona by hiring nearly 30 percent of employees from the Del E. Webb School of Construction at ASU, and by working directly with more than 40 nonprofit organizations in recent years. Organizations that employees actively engage with include the Arizona Builders Alliance, Banner Cardon Children’s Hospital, Boys & Girls Club of the East Valley, and the Chandler Compadres.

Some of the contractor’s 2017 achievements include being named as the general contractor of the year by NAIOP Arizona; being ranked No. 7 on the Sun Devil 100 list by the ASU Alumni Association; and named a Social Impact finalist, W.P. Carey School of Business Spirit of Enterprise Awards.
