NAU North Valley campus encompassed an improvement of 66,662 SF of a multi-tenant office building into a cohesive satellite collegiate facility. The renovation included a welcoming lobby with soaring ceiling heights, innovative classrooms, observation rooms, spacious multi-use rooms, a computer lab, faculty office space, support areas such as copy rooms, server/data rooms and storage. Some of the amenities included a café and kitchen and two relaxing court yards. This project was successful with our on time delivery being only a 13 week time frame to complete the entire build out, while maintaining high quality of construction. Building was delivered on a Friday, tenant moved in over the weekend and classes began that Monday. The major challenge in the NAU North Valley project entailed transforming multiple tenant spaces into a cohesive satellite collegiate facility. A full interior remodel to an existing multi-tenant space with a compressed schedule requires involvement of a team of all parties to overcome challenges. Whether it is to bring up to code the existing fire alarm and mechanical systems or modify fire lanes and electrical above ceiling, working with city officials, the design team and client through these existing non-compliant conditions is imperative to deliver a safe building.
