Old Main, originally constructed in the 1890s, is Arizona State University’s first and oldest building and represents a rich tradition for the college. This restoration project addresses the deficiencies of the building’s exterior while ensuring its historically significant features are protected. Scope includes repair and protection to the existing masonry, windows, doors, and metal roof, with attention paid to matching new materials with the existing to create a seamless historic aesthetic. Additionally, landscape and hardscape improvements are being made to protect the structure against future water damage.
