Avondale Fire Station No. 171

Prior to this project, the existing fire station could no longer meet the functional requirements of a modern, fully operational fire station. Rather than pursuing another extensive and costly renovation, the City of Avondale determined that constructing a new facility would best meet the community’s needs.

Designed by LEA Architects, the new 16,000-square-foot Fire Station No. 171 will stand on a two-acre redeveloped site at the southwest corner of 6th Street and Western Avenue in Avondale, Arizona. The station will feature four fire apparatus bays, EMS and exam rooms, turnout areas, communications and IT rooms, administrative offices, logistics space, 10 dormitory rooms, decontamination showers, kitchen and dining facilities, laundry, day room, unisex restrooms, and covered parking for staff.
