Avondale Police Detention Center

This state-of-the-art detention center addresses Avondale’s need for an updated public safety facility and supports the City’s growing community. The new center serves a dual purpose, as a secure facility capable of holding up to 34 short-term detainees and as an administrative space for the City’s police staff.

As the building has two distinct functions under one roof, the design prioritized balancing the durability and security required for a detention facility—featuring detainment and interview rooms—with the need to provide a softer, more supportive environment for staff and the public, incorporating calming colors, high windows, and acoustic considerations where possible.
