Gilbert Christian High School Expansion

This three-story athletic and academic facility for Gilbert Christian Schools expands the campus to meet the growing demand for high-quality Christian education in the region. The design incorporates modern construction methods and finishes, delivering a safe, functional, and visually appealing learning environment on an accelerated five-month schedule so the senior class could benefit from the new space before graduation.

The basement houses nine new classrooms, including three full-sized and six smaller rooms dedicated to the school’s Gear Program. The first floor features a 3,100 SF weight room with brand-new equipment and an overhead garage door that opens directly to the football and sports field, along with a training room, restrooms, storage, and a coach’s office. The second floor includes six full-sized classrooms, each with generous natural light. Classrooms on the north and east sides, as well as the bridge connecting to the existing building, are cantilevered over the first floor. The north-side rooms overlook the football field, offering a bird’s-eye view of the action. Two classrooms feature operable partitions, allowing them to convert into a larger space for teacher training, VIP events, or athletic recruiting in a climate-controlled environment.
