The Virtual Design & Construction team is here to help make better-informed decisions through the development of BIM & Reality Capture data in the virtual environment.
Clash Coordination
The VDC Team compiles all models received by Designers, Trade Partners, and Fabricators into a single coordination model, then runs clash detection of 3D objects to determine potential issues with design, installation, and/or maintenance of critical elements of the project.
2D and 3D Constructability Reviews
The VDC Team performs constructability reviews in two ways. The first is by overlaying 2D drawings in Bluebeam to help identify potential issues with the design, installation, and/ or maintenance of critical elements of the project. The second is by constructing 3D mock-ups in Revit to verify that details and dimensions will work as designed.
Bluebeam CAD/PDF Overlays
The VDC Team can help your team with advanced Bluebeam or CAD overlays. Additionally, the team can also assist with combining multiple sheets into a single large sheet for printing.
Reality Capture Services
Drone
The VDC Team utilizes a state-of-the-art drone with Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning to strategically capture images that are processed into a point cloud on Reconstruct. The point cloud and HD images on Reconstruct’s webpage allows our team and other stakeholders to see progress, take measurements, and compare against 2D pdfs and 3D Building Information Models (BIM).
360 Photos
The VDC Team utilizes a 360 camera to strategically walk and capture 360 hyperlapse videos that are processed into a point cloud on Reconstruct. The point cloud and 360 images on Reconstruct’s webpage allows our team and other stakeholders to see progress, take measurements, and compare against 2D pdfs and 3D Building Information Models (BIM).
Procore Model Viewing
Willmeng uses Procore to view model content on your Desktop and iPad. A coordination model can be compiled and uploaded to Procore within a day making it quick and easy for any project stakeholder to use.
Agtek Gradework Modeling & Takeoff
The VDC Team utilizes Agtek Gradework software to run a Cut/Fill analysis between a project’s existing contours and grading plans. This works great to check against earthwork quantities provided by our trade partners. 3D Civil CAD (.DWG) and PDFs are both required to perform this service effectively.
