At Willmeng, safety isn’t a campaign—it’s a commitment. This year’s Construction Safety Week theme, “All In Together: Plan. Own. Commit.”, couldn’t resonate more with who we are and how we build. It speaks to the very heart of our culture: safety is not a box we check, it’s a responsibility we each embrace—every role, every site, every day.

This week, we’re proud to reinforce that commitment by launching our “Hard Hats to Helmets” initiative—an exciting and meaningful step forward in personal protective equipment. But let’s be clear: while the visual may be striking, this isn’t about what’s on our heads for one week a year. This is about how we protect what matters most—our people—every single day.

Why Helmets? Why Now?

In 2023, OSHA began recommending safety helmets as a best practice across the industry due to their enhanced protection against traumatic brain injuries. Unlike traditional hard hats, helmets offer improved safety from all directions, especially during slips, trips, and falls, which remain one of the leading causes of construction fatalities. The inclusion of chin straps, stronger materials, and even smart features like Twiceme ID technology help ensure that Willmeng team members are better protected and easier to assist in emergencies.

A Helmet Is Only Part of the Story

What matters most is that every team member continues to demonstrate what Safety Week is really about: planning for safety, owning your role in it, and committing to each other’s well-being.

Our job sites reflect daily rituals of protection, communication, and accountability. Whether it’s a pre-task plan, a peer reminder about eye protection, or a discussion about heat safety during morning huddles, our teams live out the meaning of “All In Together” all year long.

That’s why this week; we’re not just talking about safety. We’re showcasing the commitment already in motion. You’ll see stories from the field, spotlights on safety leaders, and examples of how our people plan, own, and commit to keeping each other safe.

Together, We Build Safer

As we look ahead, we’re excited to continue enhancing the tools and culture that make safety second nature at Willmeng. The Hard Hat to Helmet initiative is just one milestone in a broader journey. It represents a mindset: one where safety isn’t reactive, but proactive; where leadership is shared; and where every voice matters.

To our teams in the field, in the office, and everywhere in between: thank you for going All In with us—not just during Safety Week, but every day we build together.
