At Willmeng Construction, we are filled with gratitude as we proudly announce not one but two exciting wins. Our projects, Landing 4-ElectraMeccanica, and the Scottsdale Civic Center Renovation, have been honored with Engineering News-Record (ENR) Southwest’s prestigious Best Project awards. This achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of our clients, team, and trader partners to excellence, innovation, and community enhancement.

The ENR Regional Best Projects honor the best construction projects and the companies that designed and built them in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Projects compete in 18 specialized categories, from airport/transit to sports/entertainment. The juries are independent industry leaders in design and construction from each of ENR’s ten regional editions and judge the projects using five criteria, including safety, innovation, and teamwork.   Landing 4-ElectraMeccanica: Pioneering the Future of Manufacturing Our Landing 4-ElectraMeccanica project was awarded the ENR Best Project’s manufacturing category, and we extend our deepest appreciation to the innovative team at ElectraMeccanica who made this vision come to life! This incredible partnership allowed us to bring ElectraMeccanica’s brand-new headquarters to the Valley, marking a significant milestone for both our company and this visionary electric vehicle manufacturer. This project represents more than just bricks and mortar; it signifies the birth of ElectraMeccanica’s first U.S.-based engineering technical center. The facility encompasses an impressive 22,000 square feet of office space complemented by 19,000 square feet of cutting-edge laboratory space. Within the office space, we’ve seamlessly integrated modern design aesthetics with advanced technology. Large, inviting break rooms offer employees a comfortable space to recharge, while state-of-the-art meeting rooms foster collaboration and innovation. Not to be overlooked, the contemporary restrooms add a touch of luxury to the workspace. As ElectraMeccanica continues to evolve and pioneer the future of transportation, we are profoundly grateful for the trust they placed in us to realize their vision. We eagerly anticipate the remarkable strides they will make within the walls of this groundbreaking facility. This project exemplifies our commitment to transforming dreams into tangible reality, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the privilege to be part of it.

Scottsdale Civic Center: Revitalizing the Heart of the Community  Our second ENR Southwest “Best Project” award, in the Landscape/Urban Development category, is a testament to our collaboration with the City of Scottsdale on the transformation of the Scottsdale Civic Center. This project has been a humbling and inspiring experience for our team as it allowed us to contribute to the very heart of Scottsdale’s downtown area.  The Scottsdale Civic Center project transcends traditional construction; it is about creating spaces that bring communities together, elevate the quality of life, and serve as a cherished gathering place for residents and visitors. Our team approached this project with meticulous attention to detail and a deep sense of responsibility toward the city’s budget. We provided crucial upgrades to the utility infrastructure, ensuring it can meet the ever-growing needs of the community. Grading and drainage services were executed with precision to guarantee optimal functionality.  The project introduced landscape and decorative hardscape enhancements that added an aesthetic touch to the area. New structural elements, including two multi-functional stages, were incorporated to facilitate community events and gatherings. Restroom facilities were thoughtfully placed for convenience, and we created a children’s play area with a mist-fog system, as well as a shaded play area for sunny days.  The Scottsdale Civic Center project is a testament to the incredible results that can be achieved when visionary clients and expert construction teams collaborate. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to the revitalization of this space, which we believe will become a cornerstone of community engagement for generations to come.  In winning these two ENR Southwest “Best Project” awards, we are not only celebrating the excellence of our team but also expressing our heartfelt gratitude to ENR and our clients. We are thankful for the trust and partnership of our visionary clients, and we look forward to more opportunities to collaborate on innovative projects that transform dreams into reality and communities into vibrant, thriving spaces.
