Willmeng’s Pioneering the Next Chapter in Parks and Recreation Excellence

In the last two years alone, Willmeng has undertaken several park projects, proudly contributing to the immeasurable benefits that these initiatives bring to the surrounding communities.

Actions to boost park amenities have thrived in areas covering the Southeast Valley to the West Valley. What initially began as field-driven projects, evolved into today’s multifaceted recreation areas, complete with splash pads, gazebos, and water features.

CEO, James Murphy expresses how moving watching and participating in this growth has been. Murphy elaborates on his gratitude for the industry and its commitment to enhancing the overall well-being and quality of life these projects provide for their communities.

The beginning of this evolution was guided towards recreation-based sports and physical activity, transforming open areas into sprawling sports fields with towering lights, to cater to a diverse range of recreational interests. These spaces became magnets for families, friends, and local leagues, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie with tournaments or family fun days.

More frequently today, park projects are driven by more than just recreation, but immersion and creativity. Many of the industry-leading park projects Willmeng has developed reflect this paradigm shift and remain top tier by integrating fishing lakes, playgrounds with spongy rubber grounding for safety, expansive turf fields, sand volleyball courts, and even outdoor games like ping pong tables and giant Jenga.

Crucially, Willmeng ensures that each project is a collaborative effort with the community it serves. Through careful attention to community surveys and feedback, Willmeng integrates the specific needs and preferences of residents into the design and construction phases of their projects.

Mike Ploeger, Willmeng Project Executive, articulates how these amenities embody the true purpose of parks and align with what Willmeng is proud to represent – bringing joy to every family and community member. The evolution of parks in the Valley goes beyond physical infrastructure; it encapsulates a commitment to the communities they serve and Willmeng represents.
