As summer drew to a close, we at Willmeng looked back with pride and enthusiasm on the completion of our 2024 Summer Internship Program. This year’s program was filled with moments of learning, growth, and exploration.
Our journey began with a warm welcome event at our office, where we introduced our talented intern class to the world of Willmeng. The interns had the opportunity to tour their new workspace and meet some of our dedicated team members. Their enthusiasm was palpable as they prepared to immerse themselves in the world of building excellence. The program quickly shifted into high gear!
Our intern job site tours were exciting, offering our interns an exclusive glimpse into the heart of our ongoing projects. On Day 1, we visited several sites, including Glendale Heroes Park in collaboration with the City of Glendale AZ, Sun Valley Academy with Morrison Education Group, Inc., and the Surprise Fire 309 and Community Pool with the City of Surprise. Interns were able to see firsthand the incredible work being done by our team.
Day 2 of the job site tours was about deepening the interns’ understanding of our diverse projects. The group explored the newly completed City of Mesa Police Property and Evidence Facility, the Gilbert Water Tower Plaza in the Town of Gilbert, Willmeng Outpost, and the ASU Tempe District Utility Plant at Arizona State University. Seeing these various stages of construction and project development, our interns gained invaluable insights into the complexities and achievements of our industry.
As the program came to a close, we celebrated the remarkable contributions and growth of our intern class. Each intern explored different facets of the construction field, contributing uniquely to our projects and team dynamics. The interns gave final presentations to showcase their learning experiences and reflections, demonstrating the hard work and dedication they had put into their roles.
We are immensely grateful for the energy, creativity, and commitment our interns brought to Willmeng. As they move forward in their careers, we are confident that the skills and experiences they gained during their time with us will serve them well. We look forward to watching their future successes and hope to stay connected as they continue to make their mark in the world of construction.
