[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]At Willmeng Construction, Sun Devil pride runs deep, which is evident by the large number of Arizona State University graduates working at the firm, including Willmeng’s President James Murphy who earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Construction in 1998 and Masters of Construction in 2009 from the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.

Murphy was again recognized this year at Sun Devil 100, which celebrates the achievements of Arizona State University alumni who own or lead successful, innovative businesses across the globe. The Sun Devil Class of 2018 is an elite group of talented business leaders who exemplify the spirit of ASU as the New American University.

According to the Phoenix Business Journal, “Whether it’s helping people to build wealth or live healthier, or sustainability, technology, publishing or other areas of importance, each of these innovators has taken a passion and turned it into an opportunity. Collectively, the Sun Devil 100 Class of 2018 employs nearly 25,000 people and generates more than $8 billion in annual revenue.”

This special awards program was instituted to invite these innovative leaders back to campus for a celebration in their honor. It’d led by Christine Wilkinson who is the senior vice president and secretary of ASU as well as the president and CEO of there ASU Alumni Association. For the third year in a row, Arizona State University was recognized by the U.S. News & World Report as the nation’s “most innovative school” for its groundbreaking initiatives, partnerships, programs and research, placing ahead of Stanford and MIT.
