The Arizona Chapter APWA Statewide Conference once again provided an excellent platform for public works professionals to connect, learn, and discuss the evolving landscape of our industry. Willmeng is proud to have been a part of this event, contributing to its success and engaging in meaningful conversations with fellow experts.
The conference buzzed with energy as professionals from various specialized fields came together to share their insights and experiences. The Willmeng team enjoyed the opportunity to not only gain knowledge from peers but also to share their expertise, contributing to the broader discourse on Arizona’s infrastructure development.
A notable highlight was the participation of Willmeng’s David J. Laughlin, who joined a distinguished panel of experts. This panel, titled “Challenges and Practices for Capital Improvement Project Budgeting within Public Agencies,” delved into the intricacies of the capital improvement project (CIP) budgeting process. The session aimed to uncover the challenges that often hinder the accuracy and efficiency of CIP budgets and to explore potential solutions collaboratively.
Moderated by Danielle Feroleto, the panel featured insightful discussions with industry professionals, including Toby Crooks from the Town of Gilbert, Paul Lopez, PE, CSBA from the City of Buckeye, David Lipinski from the Town of Queen Creek, and Alex Kohnen from Arizona State University. Together, they examined the complexities of CIP budgeting, seeking ways to improve its precision prior to the engagement of design and construction services.
This presentation aligns with Willmeng’s commitment to innovation and progress in the public works sector. By openly addressing challenges and fostering discussions, we contribute to the growth and resilience of Arizona’s infrastructure landscape.
We extend our appreciation to the organizers, attendees, and fellow professionals who made this conference a success. As we reflect on the connections made and the knowledge shared, we look forward to building upon the momentum gained at the Arizona Chapter APWA Statewide Conference. Our industry’s future is brighter when we collaborate, learn, and innovate together. Until the next conference, let’s continue driving positive change in the field of public work.
